Area Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Police state they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then located numerous other marked cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations indicate the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are not yet aware of any injuries in association with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.
An important representative stated the vandalism rendered him without words and had to be addressed quickly.
"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of immigrant origin in 2020.
